Broker Development Manager
Hi! I’m Roberta Giffin, and I’m excited to be part of the team. I’ve worked in the insurance industry for 36 years, primarily in the Property & Casualty space. Over the years, I’ve held various roles, most recently as a Business Development and Marketing Manager. I’ve always enjoyed working with people – whether it’s building relationships with clients, supporting teams, or helping drive new business opportunities.
I’m passionate about team collaboration, strong communication, and making things work more efficiently – all while keeping the customer experience at the center. I believe in leading by example and bringing a positive, solutions-focused attitude to everything I do.
Outside of work, I live just outside of Blenheim on Rondeau Bay with my husband James. We have two sons and four grandchildren – being a grandma is one of my greatest joys. In our spare time, James and I love boating, fishing, travelling, and spending quality time with our growing family.
With over three decades of experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry, my areas of expertise span business development, marketing strategy, client retention, and team leadership. I specialize in supporting agents and CSR teams to achieve performance goals while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, efficiency, and service excellence.
I have extensive experience developing and managing strategic initiatives to drive growth, improve workflows, and ensure consistent client experiences across channels. I’m skilled at identifying opportunities for cross-selling, renewal retention, and expanding books of business, all while balancing organizational goals and frontline realities.
A key strength of mine is building strong relationships – whether it’s with clients, internal teams, or external partners. I enjoy mentoring, coaching, and collaborating to bring out the best in those around me, and I believe that clear communication and accountability are essential to team success.
I’m also experienced in developing and refining processes, onboarding programs, and performance measures that align with company goals. Whether launching new initiatives, supporting system changes, or navigating regulatory requirements, I bring a practical, hands-on approach grounded in real-world experience.

While I’m not actively involved in formal volunteer roles, I strongly believe in giving back to the community in meaningful ways. Over the years, I’ve supported several local initiatives, organizations, and events through sponsorships and donations – particularly those that benefit children, families, and rural communities.
One cause close to my heart is food security, and I regularly donate to our local food bank to help support individuals and families in need. Whether it’s contributing to fundraisers, sponsoring local sports teams, or helping with causes that matter to those around me, I’m always happy to lend support where I can. I see community involvement as a way to stay connected and make a positive impact, even behind the scenes.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband James and our growing family. We love to travel and take any chance we can to be out on the water – boating and fishing are two of our favorite pastimes. We also enjoy hunting and spending time outdoors whenever possible.
Family is everything to us, and some of our best moments are spent with our grandchildren. Whether it’s a family gathering or a quiet afternoon visit, those times are the most special. I also enjoy hosting dinner parties and get-togethers with friends and family – there’s nothing better than good food and great company.
When the days are quieter, I appreciate time to unwind, relax, and recharge – whether that’s with a good book, a cup of tea, or just taking in the view from home.
