Account Executive
Darlene Embury is an Account Executive with Ai Insurance Organization and a broker licensed in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia, with more than 20 years in the business. She earned her licence in 2004, spent four years in personal lines, then completed her CAIB designation in 2008 and moved into commercial insurance.
Darlene places commercial package, commercial auto, professional liability (E&O), and builders risk coverage. She also handles cyber, legal expense, vacant property, and commercial property for older and downtown buildings. Her clients include small trades, renovators, and contractors; owner-operators and small fleets; small commercial landlords; and consultants, accountants, and mortgage brokers. She also works with nonprofits, charities, and faith communities on liability, D&O, and abuse coverage.
She has quoted through every market cycle, from rate manuals and typed certificates to today’s online portals. She has also served the industry, as a Board Member of the Central Erie Insurance Brokers Association in 2012 and President in 2018.
Her approach is simple: be honest, be clear, and treat clients the way she would want to be treated. If she doesn’t know an answer, she finds it fast. She also mentors newer brokers on the team.
You can find Darlene around people. She loves to socialize whether it be with friends, relatives, colleagues or new people she meets while traveling. She’s not much of a resort traveler. You will more likely find her exploring Europe by plane, train or automobile. Her most satisfying travel experience led her to walk the entire 800 kms (500 miles) of the Camino de Santiago over a 6- week period with her daughter and joined in the last 300 kms with her husband. This was quite the challenge since her only previous experience had been a 5-day hike in the jungle/mountain area in Columbia to find the Lost City. Manchu Pichu is the last remaining hike she’d like to achieve although she’d be more than happy to re-walk the Camino de Santiago again.
